Private Sector Senior Economist
Job Description
The Senior Economist will manage a portfolio of business information consulting projects as well as contribute to the overall analytical function of the economic and market research arm of NEMA, a major manufacturing trade association.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage new and ongoing quantitative projects and prepare and present findings to member clients

Undertake econometric modeling and economic research of the electroindustry and develop and maintain forecast models for electroindustry product sectors

Assist in production of monthly economic and industry outlook using vendor supplied national economic model

Contribute analytical content to the association’s magazine, blog, and other channels of distribution as assigned

Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of economic and electroindustry indicators

Provide economic/market data information to NEMA Members
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-
Quantitative orientation with expertise in econometrics and in specialized software applications such as EViews
-
Excellent writing skills
-
Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision

Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
-
Familiarity with sources of economic data
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Graduate degree in economics.
-
5-8 years experience in applied economic analysis; experience in a consulting, trade association, or corporate environment a plus.
