Private Sector Economist
Job Description
HDR is currently in need of Economists for our Decision Economics practice in Silver Spring, MD. These individuals will be expected to conduct primary and secondary research to support the formulation of analytical solutions, the development of economic models, and the interpretation of results for projects with our civil engineer, environmental, and architectural business groups. They will collect and review existing research and assess the applicability of results to the problem at hand. These duties require a sound knowledge of economic and econometric methods. They may work independently on projects or assist senior economists.
Requirements
Masters in Economics strongly preferred, minimum of Bachelors in Economics or related field required.
1-2+ years equivalent experience with an emphasis on the application and interpretation of research is preferred, though entry-level candidates will be considered.
Experience in conceptualizing and developing economic or business models using analytical methods is required.
Knowledge of economic/econometric methods is needed.
Experience with analytical packages and/or programming languages (SAS, Eviews, SPSS, Visual Basic, etc.) and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Power Point, and Access is required.
Position requires an individual with the ability to interact with clients on a regular basis.
