Job Description
Part of the Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain (CASC) Platform, World Trading Unit (WTU) is the world leader in the trading of grains and oilseeds. Commodities such as barley, corn, soybeans, sunflower seeds, wheat and vegetable oils are traded on a global worldwide basis. Headquartered in Geneva, WTU has about 150 employees and our success is built on their ability to understand international markets, formulate gameplans and execute trades.
As a member of the R&D for trading, this position will work closely with Global Trading Analytics (GTA) analysts to form opinions and forecasts relating to global agricultural markets in order to attend World Trading Unit (WTU) commodity desks demands. This position requires strong vision to drive results based on the experience on framing markets problems using economic knowledge, modeling those problems using advanced econometric and statistical know-how, computer competency to transform raw data into insights and communication effectiveness.
Role and Responsibilities
Develop models to support agricultural market analysis and trading decisions.
Research methods that would support continuous improvement of analysis and models
Model Maintenance
Project management
Consultancy and advice for GTA analysts
Experience
Conceptualize problems and frame solutions as projects – Minimum 3 years of experience
Working experience on forecasting and modeling building
Working experience on Time series, multivariate and multidimensional analysis
Project management and development
Technical Skills
Fluent English,
Intermediate EViews user
Programming experience (Visual Basic, C++, C# or scripting in Eviews, R, SAS, SPSS or other statistical package)
Advanced user of Excel
Strong ability to query data in databases
